Chopsticked the Max

Sounds like a new styling trend, but no, I literally used a set of chopsticks as a tool while replacing my spark plugs. Kind of fitting considering it's a Japanese car. I was forced to remove a small pebble from the spark plug hole, that was resting between the hex and the wall of the hole about 3 inches down. I discovered it while inspecting the holes before removing any plugs, but even if I hadn't, the pebble was big enough to block out the socket, so it would have found it no matter what.

At first I tried using my trusty pick up claw which was useless because there was no clearance for the claw to open, then I wrapped some electrical tape around the tip of one chopstick, hoping it would stick. I could have used one of my glues next, but figured might as well take a set of chopsticks to the old Nissan. It took a few minutes to grab because my thumb had to be so high on the sticks because of how far down the pebble was.

Anyway I got it out. Never really thought I'd ever have to use chopsticks when working on my car though. If I had a riced out Maxima, I could have had a snack.

That's exactly what Nissan recommends for over 30 different procedures on the 4th gen. I actually replaced my front struts with nothing more than gloves and two sets of chopsticks (the first pair broke when I was undoing the nuts on the tower).

Lol. A set of genuine Nissan chopsticks would run $59.83 at the dealership.

That's why I only drop rocks with a high metal content in my engine.
I rather use a magnet.
The restaurants always give me dull chopsticks with training wheels/rubber bands.

Love the: "if I had a ricer I could have had a meal."

This reminds me of the time I tried to split one of those wooden chopsticks that come as one piece and had a little trouble, so after struggling a while I went VTEC and then... Snap! Chop sticks broke then my hand flew out and knocked my drink over.

But yes DennisMik's quote should seriously be tattooed somewhere on someone. We have got to remember that fact forever, Lol

I returned the crappy 3 gallon compressor I had awhile ago, way too loud for airbrushing which is what I bought it for. As far as I'm concerned, the only reason to have one of those is to inflate your tires, which can be done with a 12v portable compressor that costs $8 at HF. The most desirable air tool for me is a spray gun, and everyone knows what kind of compressor it takes to run one of those, can't really justify buying a mid range compressor that won't paint.

Did you want to talk about air compressors or were you just making chit chat?
