The muffler fits 96-96 without modification. However, it will fit 97-99 with slight modification to the hangers.

Here's the deal.

The WS will bolt up to a 97-99 with no problems. Here's what you may need to do:

- Drill a hole for the rear O2 sensor. There isn't a hole there, so if you want the sensor you need to install it yourself.

- Maybe bend the hangers so it doesn't run the rear bumper.

So, YES, it will work.

Just the hangers? I can live with that. Thanks for the help!

Would there be any disadvantage to leaving the O2 sensor off? Should I try to preserve it by drilling a hole?

Thanks in advance.

www.wholesalehyperformance.com

They have the lowest price out there. Or so I've seen. Everyone I've talked (NOPI, KarTec, etc) are telling me to go with it because they can't come close.

$399.20 + s/h

Damn, too bad I won't get any kickbacks for everyone that clicks on this link

and it works fine on a 97 SE just had to drill a hole for rear 02 and bend muffler hangers...I wish it was a little louder though...my intake drowns out the exhaust completely.

Oh well, just goes to show...when your not completely informed or educated on something...your a$$ed-out. Thank you for making me aware that I'm a$$ed-out. It's cool though, since you helped me out with the O2 sensor question

Not really a source to share. An individual on the board (or at least was) who owned a performance shop ended up with one and lost the hardware kit that comes with it (nuts, bolts, gaskets) and sold it for $275 + I had to spend about $20 for hardware and a bottle of Vodka to have the hangers bent. Not a bad deal all in all.

Is the A'pexi a whole entire cat-back system? Or is it some little pipe with an exhaust?

Not quite sure I understand your question, but yes, it is an entire cat back. B-Pipe and Muffler.

the only difference is that the 97+ maximas have an extra sensor .....you have two options......drill a hole or have a muffler shop make it nice for you

or #3, just leave the sensor out, as many have done.

i was under the impression that 95 maxima's had rear 02 sensors.. i don't know because i never worked on my 95 didn't have it that long to work on it or mod it..

if they do.. the Apex'i just didn't drill the hole

95's have a rear O2 sensor, but it is located in the cat itself, so its not an issue when dealing with a catback. 97-98's and Fed Spec 99's have an O2 sensor that is located in the b-pipe behind the cat, and I'm pretty sure that Cali. Spec 99's don't have a rear O2 sensor at all...

Here's a good pic:
