Hey im in a sticky situatuon. i currently have a 2000 maxima with 100k miles on it. Sadly, theres a rip near the strut tower which will cost mor than its worth. i sw a 98' maxima with 243k miles on craigslist which is in my (very small) budget. So instead of junking my car, are their any compatible parts between the two? specifically the engine and other major engine components.

 

Yep, people have swapped a 5th gen engine in the 4th gen several times before. Search around the forums for the "DE-K swap." I'd imagine the swap should be somewhat similar to the 00VI swap, which I did when I had my 4th gen. 00VI was Pretty easy, just needed to do some splicing and soldering here and there for injector harnesses and what not.

 

Not sure what you mean rip near the strut tower, I am assuming the welds on the strut tower seam is coming apart?
