6 Speed Numbers?

Does anyone know the official production number of 6 speeds? The dealer told me 2500 but I thought that sounded low.

The dealer is feeding you a line of crap to try and get you to pay sticker for a 6 speed (or he's trying to not give you a deal). They are not a limited production vehicle. Nissan will make everyone they get an order for. When I was bargaining with my dealer they tried to pull this same stunt on me by telling me it was a "limited production vehicle". When I pointed out his blatant lie he changed it to, "Well... they're not going to make a lot of them." I bought my car elsewhere.

Yep, just like my old 5spd I30, there was only about 500 of them built per year.

Only 2% of 5th gen's are 5spd I think.There may be a few more 6spds running around though(not yet of coarse}.

Yes, but they are "rare" due to a lack of demand, not due to high demand and short supply. Doesn't stop the dealer from trying to price gouge though.

Exactly.

On trade in, the dealers roll their eyes when you tell them youve got a "rare" 5 speed. Theyd much rather take in an auto Max as 95% of the Max buyers dont want the manual transmission.

Of course. The dealer's trying to make as much money as possible. That means feeding you a line of BS when he's selling you it and feeding you a different lind of BS when you're trying to trade it in.

I can't believe they only sell 5% of Maxima's with sticks. That would not be profitable for Nissan to even offer. That's why most cars aren't available with sticks. There's no demand and the the car maker can't make a profit on it. It's got to be closer to 20% or Nissan would have dumped the stick a while ago.
