insurance question
My 2013 Maxima is equipted with the new convertable a pano roof which when you look at it you relize it is a car that the entire roof from windshield to rear window is solid GLASS.My thought is questioning what part of my insurance covers this roof if it crackes or shatters.IS it glass coverage or collision any agents out their have thoughts on this my insurance company gives me conflicting answers. Not that its broken now but better to be prepared if their is an issue.
I have the same glass roof on my 2010. If you have full coverage insurance why worry about it. If it gets broke, it gets fixed (by the dealer) not some half priced auto body shop. Don't get worked up on the "what if's" you'll live a more healthier, happier life.
Thank you for those comforting words but the real issue concerning this glass roof is coverage under glass has NO deductable and collision involves a $1,000 deductable thats where the differance lies.
Well, if you get in an accident, just make sure it's not your fault.
Then no worries about your high deductible.
If your insurance can't answer your question, it might be time to switch insurance companies..... or try calling 2 or 3 other reputable insurance companies and pretend you're shopping around. Maybe they can answer your question.
Have you read your policy? It should spell out what "glass coverage" entails.

I understand your question and I agree that it does make a difference because of the deductible. Seems to me that non-collision damage due to vandalism, hail, or something falling on it from above would be covered by your comprehensive coverage and involve whatever separate deductible you have for that. The same is true for a non glass roof.. I know!
