Does anyone know if the 2001 AE shift **** will fit on a 4th gen. Just curious. Also has anyone done it also? Thanks a lot.

Yep

I have a AE shift **** on my 97.

Fits great. It seems to make the shifter a litter taller than stock, but I didn't mind that with the STS installed.

I can take a pic tonight and post it when I get home from work if you'd like.

5-speeds yes, automatics not without some

tinkering with a Dremel tool.

If you have the auto shifter, the link at the bottom in my sig further explains the issues with the 2k+ auto shifters fitment on the 89-99 Maximas....

I didn't even know the anniversary models had 'special' shifters...

I think it was a little under $50 from SouthPoint Nissan. Check the 5th gen forms and search for AE parts...their number is in there some where. Talk to Dave.

I will take a pic or two and post them tonight when I get home.

Here they are...

Sorry it took me so long to get these pics posted.

My photography skills aren't the best, and my camera isn't that good, but it should be good enough for you to get the idea.

I briefly discuss this on maxima.org -->

in the Shop Talk section. The specific write-up is linked below.

<A HREF="https://maxima.org/shoptalk/sub_modifications/mod_i30_pt3/index.shtml">Auto Shifter Write-up</A>

My opinion is you CAN do this....I just didn't have the patience, time, or Dremel tool to make it happen.

I would give it a shot.

BTW, the part number I give for the shifter is for the 5th gen Maximas and I30s. I doubt that you can get the anniversary shifter from Infiniti of Scotsdale, so you'll have to go to Courtesy or Brown and Brown Nissan, etc.

Good luck!
