Last night 1/21/02, Bruce, a.k.a. Papasmurf's Max was stolen. If anyone spots it please let us know as soon as possible by replying to this thread. Its a white 95/96 with a white GT style spoiler on the trunk and chrome 15" or 16" wheels. He was the guy with the A/C compressor and battery taken out of the engine bay at our last DC meet on the water.

 

Man..that sucks. Looks like the turbo kit won't happen anytime soon.

Okay, Bruce just hit me on my radio and said that he saw the car travelling the opposite way on 495 Capital Beltway. His car also has a DTM muffler. So yes it does stick out. I just saw a recent picture so it has 15" silver five star wheels.

 

Damn he saw his own stolen car on the road? Hope he doesn't own a gun...

 

Blows that his max got stolen. But I don't know if it was me I'd want them to trash the hell out of mine and burn it so it's considered a totla loss my my insurance co. (This is assuming you have good coverage and a good insurance company)

I've had a few friends that have had their cars stolen and the crooks beat the hell out of the car and ripped the stuff they wanted. None of their insurance co's gave them a new car. Just told them to repair it and it was jsut a big pain.

Hopefully though since papasmurf says he saw his car driving around it's jsut some punks on a joy ride. Hoep you get it back in the same condition with just some miles put on and nothing taken off.

 

Holy sh*t! I would freak out if I saw the car, I hope he's in constant contact with the police. Cops are crawling all over the beltway.

And year his rims are 5 star, American Racing AR-50s I believe.

What's with all the Maximas being stolen or broken into lately? I only got an Autolock to protect my car, if they really want your car though, they will find a way to steal it one way or another. Alarms are useless IMO.

 

damn that sucks, i think i'm just gonna lock my max in a cage with federal marshalls so no one can get to it

Very interested here, it's not everyday a car gets stolen and then in spotted by the person it was stolen from a few hours later.

He said he saw the car on the other side of the beltway but couldn't catch up to it because it was too fast. I think it sucks too. The reason I'm posting is because he's been at work all day and he's been keeping me updated through Nextel. He told me to post on here what happened.

 

What would be my number? Does it count that I may be getting a color change soon?

 

Did he call the cops when he saw the car?

He said he called the tag number in but he still doesn't have his car. I think PG County Cops are sitting on their asses again. I better not see any of them chasing anybody at Metro anymore.

 

Papasmurf just called and said he just got his car back!! They didn't take any of his mods. They took his stock stereo, two of his jackets, and a bag of his girl's clothes. The only thing is that they tore the interior to shreds getting to his stereo. I can tell he wasn't dealing with bright people here.

Hey guys everythings ok i guess considering. Yeah i got it back a little messed up but its all in one peice just a little extra info they must not be able to drive cause they hit my front bumper into something its about 1/4inch back and my lp bracket is cracked, and they must have backed into a curb cause now one of my dtm outlets is flat on the bottom side. But other than that its back to norm with the r&d so dont worry guys ill come through on this turbo just give it time.

Yeah it was found off of branch ave right off Penn Ave but yeah it was abbandoned.

Listen to this crap.. I know a guy with a civic..He didnt have anymods or nothin on it.. It got stolen..3 months later they found it with rims, kit new stereo and painted! He got it back just like that! lol

how did they know it was his? did the fools leave the plates on or did the check the VIN?

 

Yeah well the guy changed the plates and never registered the car (cause he couldnt of course) Well he got stopped for speeding!!! And the plates didnt match so they looked into it more and checked the VIN..ran it and found out it was stolen!
