Buying Electronic Parts---- Online ?

Hi Friends,

  • Anyone purchase Electronic Car Parts Online ?
  • What was your experience like...any problems?
  • Here's the Part on Ebay
I'm a little sckeptical because the part is about 50% less than dealer costs AND i'm not sure how to get my money back if i return it. Anyway its a Sensor (Variable Intake Air System Control, Solenoid Valve Circuit) and I WAS wondering if i should take the risk OR by it locally at dealer.

What do you think?

Yes, lots of us buy parts from Ebay and online sources.

Experience wise, it's hit and miss. For example, aftermarket MAF's are a no no for us 4th gen guys. For the part you're looking at, I bet you'd be ok.

It says in the ad that they offer full returns, you just pay return shipping.

If they give you any crap, file a claim with Ebay. Ebay is very good about protecting the buyer.

That price still seems high for what it is. No salvage yards near you? You'll get it for $5 or less I'm sure. Or buy one off of someone parting out a car in the classifieds.

The Dorman brand is one of the big names in auto replacement parts, so it will probably be a decent part.

+1 Dorman is #28 on Forbes list of America's Best Small companies.

The parts are usually on the high end price wise.

1. the junk yard in my area wants $45 for that part (yep...they got some cojones to ask that price...i ain't giving them that kinda money-----HELL NO)

2. good luck finding the part in a Junk yard. Nissan cars are picked clean in my area in 2 days.

3. at this point, i think it best to purchase OME from a parts dealer and take it from there.

thanks Buds !

Asking such a question in 2015 is quite an oxymoron, everything is online nowadays.

Of course it's fine to buy electronic, or any other parts online.

It's not WHERE you buy, it still always comes down to WHAT you buy.
