I wonder what kind of power this maxima was making to be able to chirpthree gear's and still get beat by an S4.Me think's any car chirping thru three gear's must have in excess of 300hp at the wheel's.

I got killed by an A4 many months ago...it looked completely stock, but I guess it wasn't...it was the 1.8T and afterwards I found out how easy it was to make that car put out 220hp without anyone really noticing the differences. I was actually looking at an A4 after that, but they are too small, I like the Max's size. BTW this was before my Nitrous.

Duh. Chirping has nothing to do with the power of the engine, but the "grabiness" of the clutch and the inertia of the engine. When the engine is at a high RPM, and you drop the clutch and it grabs well, it is going to transfer those high RPMS to the tires and "chirp" them.
Now, if you can "chirp" or "squeel" the tires just by stepping on the gas while leaving it in 3rd gear, now that is power!
And the S4 is heavy, so the stock 1/4 mile is about 14 seconds or a little higher. Of course, with just a $600 chip, that goes down to the low 13s, so watch out!

Also, if you have bald, skinny tires with no grip, you could probably chirp 5th gear in a Civic DX. The tires have a lot to do with grip.

I spinned through fourth....in the rain. I had bald Eagle RS-a tires and I was on the highway. Through third and fourth the tires wouldn't stop spinning. It was scary. I had to drive in fifth at 45mph.

I could chirp my tires when rolling in 2nd gear some times. It depends on the road(3K rpm and floor it)
