Y-pipe issue

Y-pipe issue
Ok, here's the situation. I bought the pipe and installed it only to find is was defective by being welded uncorrectly thus posing a fittment issue. The manufacturer said to remove it and send it back so they can 'fix' it and return it to me. I just paid a total of $160 intsalling it then un-installing it just because they sent me a defective pipe. My question is, should they reimburse me for that or is it my problem that I bought a defecive pipe from them? When I get it back, I'm gonna have to pay a total of $240 out of my pocket to install the damn thing!

p.s. please don't flame for not installing it myself. I don't have any tools now!

my Y experiences
bought WSP mandrel bent pipe (only used for a week), included new flex section and all gaskets - $150
shipping - 20
install - couldn't get the bolts loose at all myself so I went to a local shop - 50
total = $220 with no problems whatsoever and I needed to replace my old, leaky stock pipe anyway

Wow, and I was bummed by my Y pipe issue.
I got my Y pipe from cattman on special $159 One day just perusing the site and saw it in the specials sectin. I JUMPED on it. Got the last one.
Had my mechanic install it and replace all 3 O2 sensors. Nothing was wrong with the original ones, but at 100K miles, may as well.
Get my car back, everything is fine, feel a great difference. But later on, I get a check engine light. 0702. It's pointing to the O2 sensors. Looks like one of them may be defective.
I haven't fixed in a couple of months. I reset my ecu and the check engine light returns every week and a half or so. I can make it return much more quickly if I drive like a granny. If I drive hard all the time, the check engine ligt never appears.
Weird

Re: Y-pipe issue
You dont need a lift to do anything...except for maybe welding on subframe connectors. Of course it makes it alot easier. I have done all my projects on my car (including dropping the transmission three times in the max alone, clutch job, Y pipe install/removal a few times, B pipe install and a few others) with nothing more then one hydraulic floor jack, 4 jack stands, and various hand tools (no air tools).
As for Y pipes here is what happened to me. It took forever and alot of swearing just to get the thing on in the first place. Then, a few months later the damn flex section busted. The above 2 were both caused because the cat flange was rotated off, so this caused the entire weight of the exhaust system to twist on the flex. After a while it just busted open. So.... I had to ship the thing back to arizona. When it came back, the exact same problem happened with the flange being off. So back once again. Finally when I got it back, it fit perfectly. Phew. Total time wasted, probably 3-4 months. Don't want to think about how much I paid for shipping out of there.
