I saw a connecting rod like that come out of a Mustang once. The guy had this aftermarket intake which went down below the bumper. He drove through a puddle one day and hydrolocked his motor. Half the connecting rods looked like that...

The new GTI VR6 looks promising. The beetle turbo S is a rip off and heavy. A basic golf 1.8T is the best bang for the buck. Then let the mods begin with intake/chip/exhaust/stb/springs/rims/tint what else?

I've seen some nice jettas with body kits as well.
