Under Engine Splash Guard

Just curious if anyone has run into any problems without using splash guards underneath the engine? Electrical, alternator, ect..?

I ripped mine out about 2-3 years ago after they were hanging and partially broken. The only problem I get is a squeaky sounding belt when water splashes underneath. Other than that it hasn't created any problems so far. Just a dirty engine bay and intake filter has to be cleaned more often.

Also if I were to replace these where might be the cheapest place to buy and would aftermarket be OK? eBay, RockAuto?

This is for my 02 Maxima

I would strongly get new splash guard, rock auto do sell them or better yet at the Junk yard, because it intended to keep the water and dirt out and so you wouldn't rust out your alternator and a/c compressor that could seized up since it's way low down there.
