Help Need on CF HOOD! Pics PLEASE

I have decided to get my hood re painted since everything else has been or will be repainted. Shop quoated me $300 to redo the hood. I was also thinking about the carbon fiber hood. Does any one has pics of the CF hoods on their cars? please post and give me opinions on why i SHOULD or SHOULD NOT go with it. Thanks

CF hood

go to MaximaDriver.com
and go to "Gallery"
look at Cheston's car. He has a CF hood.
I will have pics available of my burgundy Max with CF hood sometime in the near future.

Josh at Fiber Images told me that the price now is $600+115 for shipping.

I think it's $600 or 649. I forgot.

1st gen hoods are pretty much what most people on the board have.. they dont line up perfectly unless you adjust your hood latch or get a custom hood latch

if you guys are interested PM me and give me ur best offer I guess I'll post it int he FS forum too!

I'll try to get the pics scanned this weekend ok? (need to find somoene who has a scanner and who can host em)

click on distributors and pick a dealer. if you aren't worried about getting the group deal price and just want to get a hood ASAP then it shouldn't matter. the guy Cheston said to talk to(Leonard), takes his sweet time. took me about a month to get mine from him.

spoke to Josh from Fiber Images.

I talked to Josh from Fiber Images...and he told me that they cannot honor the GD price anymore. That was to promote to hood through Cheston. The new price is set at $615 + 115 for freight. I had mine on a 3day shipping which was $135 or $145 for freight.

SX7R is right. I ordered mine about a month ago...and my hood is coming today! can't wait. They really do take their time! but it'll be worth it.

Ive had the 1st & 2nd gen.

2nd gen fits 100% better. W/o a f'n doubt. My hood doesnt start super rattling till 125 instead of 95 now.

Cheston's just moved up north, and his internet connect isnt the greatest, plus hes havin a hard time learnin a PC from his mac. (bahhahaha)

so give him a break.. as for leonard, yah, superslacker, he doesnt even work at FI anymore, so what can you ask of him?

imo if you want service, call there and ask for albert. or do what i do. drive there, and if possible, bring cheston.

It took FiberImages a couple of days to make and polish the hood, but they were backed up with other orders, so took them one month to get it out to me.
Josh at FiberImages told me that the fitment should be better. You just have to play with it to make sure it has a level fit.

Some of the guys who have CF hoods on their civics say that their hood rattles past 90mph. they told me to buy Sparco hood pins. I bought red anodized hood pins from Sparco for $50 and it should cure the rattle problem

its not that it rattles, it shakes at high speeds cuz its so light, and the air runnin under it is tryin to force it up. you can:

a) drive slower
b) get hood pins

Cheston chose the latter.. i'm doing a) right now. no more 150+ mph for me. (for now)

or you can adjust the hood latch, thats what I did, no more rattle at any speed (except over really rough roads)

my 1st gen hood fits pretty well, overall I'm happy with it, maybe I just got lucky
