Help needed quick, my car is DEAD?

My dad went to NJ right now and took my car and he just called saying he got wherever he was going and now something happened to the car and it's not starting at all. Like everything seems dead, nothing turns on, keyless remote not working either. I'm guessing the battery died? So what should he do now? would a jump start work? I told him to do whatever he had to do and I'll write a post here in the meantime , so please post some replies quick guys so I can figure something out. Thanks.

I was going to say...

You need a new starter but you have a 1997 . It could very possible be the battery, ask your dad if the security light beside the steering wheels blinks at all. If not, just jump start the car and keep it running for a little while.

Thanks for the quick replies. He called roadside assistance and they're sending someone to give a jump start within half an hour supposedly (pretty quick service). So after the car starts with the jump start, how long should he keep it running for to make sure it starts the next time? because he has to stay there for a while. So what exactly should he do afterwards. And now do I have to replace the battery and/or the starter or I can just do with the one on there right now? Again thanks for the replies.

LoL it was some stupid sh*t! My car just came back from the body shop yesterday and turns out that they didn't connect the battery properly and the connections came lose so that's why all that was happening. So the roadside assistance dude basically just reconnected the battery and now they're gonna charge us a $100.00 deductible for it. I'm taking the bill to my body shop, geniuses can't connect a battery properly. Anyways problem solved.

i was going to ask you if when he pressed the brake did the speedo drop to 0.. mine did that for a couple miles while i was driving.. then i pulled over to check it out.. wouldn't start up.. i noticed that the terminals were kinda over run with corrosion

so luckly i had a handy bottle of sprite in the car.. i just poured it over the terminals.. she started right up.. then when i got home i got a wire brush and went to work on the terminals..

Yeah I can't believe they were that careless either. And nop my dad didn't bother popping the hood, that's what I said to him because that's the first thing I would've done. But he doesn't know sh*t about cars so he probably wouldn't have noticed that the terminals came loose . It's all good though good thing it wasn't a big problem.

Sprint, good stuff with the sprite, but wouldn't that hurt your battery though? Pouring an acidic drink over the terminals like that?

Actually the starter problem affects all fourth gens, not just 95-96. I just replaced my starter yesterday.

I bought my Max brand-new and they didn't give me no stinkin' roadside assist.....

Batteries are cheap. Just replace it w/o psychoanalyzing it. As long as they have the group which they should it would cost $29.99 at Wal-Mart for a battery way better than what came with the car. You don't want to keep driving with a bad battery because the alternator costs a lot more to replace than $29.99. Good luck.

Lol no man it's a little secret. My car was purchased from a HONDUH dealership (because they had it in as a trade-in and we were getting a good deal on it). And all the warranty/roadside assistance I have is from Honda ironically, but the car still goes to the Nissan dealership in my area whenever something needs to be done and Honda pays for it. So that's the deal.

Well if you can spray a 100 shot of NOS in your car, then what the hell might as well pour some sprite on the battery too.
