2018 coolant evaporation

So I have a 2018 maxima sv with 35k in it, I noticed my coolant reservoir was below minimum around the same time I needed my state inspection so I took it it for the state inspection and asked about the coolant thinking there must be a leak. The service writer said that it’s common for the blue coolant to evaporate quickly and I should do a pump to make sure it wasn’t contaminated($190). I’ve never heard of coolant evaporating that quick especially when the regular service interval is a lot higher than what I’m at, anyone know if there is any truth to what he said and the blue coolant really just commonly evaporates quickly.

Don't let it bother you, just add a little distilled water to the reservoir to bring it up to the minimum line.

You will only be adding a few ounces. I have added a few ounces to both of ours over the time of ownership.

I don't get it, even if a liquid evaporates in an enclosed system, wouldn't it cause condensation that would remain
in the system?, Hmmm?. Time for Mr. Wizard.

That is odd! I use the blue coolant and I have never had any evaporation issues.

If your reservoir runs dry, and there is no puddle under the car, then you might have an internal coolant leak. Keep an eye on your oil cap. If it looks suspect, then have it checked out.
