Question on SE and SE limited?

1999 being the last model year of the 4th generation.
The only difference is the badging, and models made after 12/98 have slightly different parts, for testing new items for the 2000 Maxima. Motor, Power, Suspension, are all the same as the other 4th generations. Beyond these non visual changes (if you don't know what Nissan did) there is no difference. All the SE models at that time were called Limited Edition as part of Nissans attempt to give them a new Image. As you may have seen, Nissans attempt to overcome the filing for bankruptcy, was to take what money they had and give all the vehicles a new look, trying to lead the market in their cars to be the Largest, Roomiest, most Powerfull vehicles in their classes. As you may know that Honda, and Toyota have had longer term sales in the states with a better reputation of durability than Nissan did. Nissans first major contributions to the States were their Z model sports cars. These cars offered great performance and price compared to American sports cars, but unfortunatly did not offer the trouble free mechanics that were known by Honda and Toyota. Honda and Toyota only offered small economy cars to the US market due to the oil shortages. People don't race these little cars. People raced their Z's, thus leading to problems, and the fact that any part that was needed cost more, and took forever to get to the states when their were breakdowns. This unfavored Nissan in the American spotlight. Nissan has grown with the US market, but overexpanded themselves just when sales were dropping off with the company.
Remember when Toyota offered 0% financing for 60 months on any of their vehicles, year after year of doing this! Toyota for a period of about 10 years almost pulled thier cars from the American market when the gas shortages ended, and people then again wanted bigger vehicles and sporty vehicles, and Toyota only had small economy cars and trucks.
I know you didn't ask for a history lesson, but sometimes I get carried away!
