OT: Kinda but not really

We are all into cars that is why we are here. Some of us even street race. Well this past week in my local paper I read about some 20 Y/O kid that was killed when his car crashed. From what I read and heard he was street racing!!! I don't know about everyone here but what would you do if that was YOU that were racing someone and they loose it..!

What if worse... You have your friend in the car and you loose it and critically hurt them? This is a touchy subject as one of our own just had an accident, but luckily it was not a fatal one.

I don't know anymore, after reading about that kid I don't think it's worth it.

Yes it is one hell of a rush to street race but personally I don't know if I’m getting to old for this crap but I’m going to keep it on the track!

Sorry if anyone finds this post offensive (with last night’s occurrence) or its considered O/T and a moderator removes it, but it's what is on my mind so I’d thought I post It.!!!

I know what you mean, but I still have a tendency to race every now and then, but I never take it to extreames anymore, I just burn the guy to 60 and stop, I had a great race with a 2001 GT Rustang the other day, I took him off the line, then ran it all the way to 70 and he didn't ever pass me, I thought my car finally had some power (just changed the plugs But I see what you mean, but if some idoit goes out and races in the streets running 100+ and loose it, I hope they are at least ok, but they shouldn't be on the road anyway, and they get what they deserve, as long as death insant involved, but alot of times thats not the case and I feel sorry for those people, not to mention the innocent ones in the situation, but theres really nothing you can do about, cause there will always be some as$hole that thinks he is Gods gift to driving fast in a car that can't handle it or even a car that can, but the driver can't and thats when people get hurt

I agree. I've only really street raced once and that was up to about 70 and I think thats really the fastest you should go. Most of the time the race is over by then and its just a matter of seeing how many car lengths you can get ahead. Problem is its so hard to actually stop once you start going.
