n00bie question

i know this is a newbie question, but do any of the infiniti i30's come with 5 speed manual trannys? cars.com had them listed, but i have yet to see a single 5 speed. are they just that rare, or are they not available?

thanx,
eric

None of the "5th gen" I30s come with stick. Only some of the "4th gens" do.

so how do the 4th gen i30's compare to the maxes? cuz id like to have the sportiness of the maxima, even if i have to upgrade suspension and stuff like that, cuz i probably would do that with a maxima anyway.

what mods arent compatible? i know that the cefiro headlights wont go on the maxima without cutting, but they will fit the i30, and maxima bodykits wont fit the i30 (what about cefiro bodykits?), but what else is/is not available compared to the 4th gen maximas?

thanx,
eric

The Max's are lighter, faster, and sportier looking. I30 might have more luxury items. 4th gen I30 rims are hideous

correct me if i am wrong, but the "4th gen" i30 you speak of is really the 1st gen, isn't it? didn't the i30 come out in 1996, making the 1996-1999 a 1st gen and the 2000+ a 2nd gen?

i could be wrong, but this is my assumption...since the 1996-1999 I30s are based on the 4th gen maxima, they are considered to be 4th gen I30s, and same with the 5th gen max and I30

Your right.

By the way, Infinitis are more reliable then maximas.. I find that wierd. Are infiniti's assembled in the United states?

i don't know about the fact that infinitis are more reliable than maximas in the car sense, but in regards to customer service, infiniti wins hands down...we have both a 96 I30 and a 97 Max GLE and dealing with Infiniti is always a lot easier...they give out a loaner car when servicing for more than a few hours, and just an overall better atmosphere...but both are still great cars, either way you choose to go
