what chemical to use while...

cleaning the adhesive part of the double sided tape out of ur car??? i'm tryin to get rid of that shiet from my car...i used the white double sided tape for the front lip and now i can't take off the adhesive thing-ma-jig...

Peel as much of the double-faced tape off as you can. After this, try and soak the adhesive residue in WD-40 spray lube or any bug and tar remover. Both are safe for painted surfaces and should soften the glue enough. You may have to repeat the application a few times to get it all.

Goo-Gone works well, and if not use a Bug & Tar remover as PapaTango said.

Yeah, I've used Goo Gone many times for things like this. It works great.

3M adhesive remover would be a logical choice

Rain X works great too, it takes lots o stuff of and leaves the spot nice and shiny. And it won't mess with the paint and try to eat it.
