Superblack 97 SE Auto (Had enough 5 spd driving in NYC, time to lounge) Black Leather in perfect condition and so is the rest of the interior, Power seats, Heated Seats and Mirrors, Moonroof, BOSE, ABS, Digital Climate Control, Standard- Spoiler+ Fogs, brand new Michelin Energy tires on the 16 inch 5 spokes. Every option Nissan offered that year.

54,100 miles, bought from a Nissan dealer at 42K miles, still around 2 years remaining on the extended warranty. The body and paint still look mint, only thing I noticed was that the hood had no factory stickers underneath and a few little scratches on it, otherwise this car fits all my requirements. I drove it, very quiet, no rattles, runs perfect, just had a tuneup from the dealer at 50K miles.

(I had my Black 97 SE with tan leather, no heated package, 5 spd and two or three horrible rattles) All of those factors eventually made me realize that wasnt the car I was looking for.

I was thinking about moving up to a 5 series or GS but dont want to give myself any kind of payments or debt to worry about. I think this one would keep me satisfied, what would you guys be willing to offer/pay for such a car?

It sounds like a nice car. Is this at a dealer, or what? If it's at a dealer, I'm sure they're going to be asking around $15k for it, but I'd expect it to (resonably) go for $11-12.5k from a dealer? Probably around $10-11k private. Sounds real nice.

Its from a private party, still gotta get it checked out at my dealers shop, after that I'll think of an offer to make. Thanks for the input guys, keep it coming.

Now that I think about it, a private party may be asking just as much as a dealer would. I mean, unless you're a maxima enthusiast, you would probably assume the car has better retail value than it actually does.

Offer low, and go from there... My friend's dad has a really good way of negotiating... He makes a unbelievabley lame offer, and then the seller makes a counter offer... After 2 or 3 offer/counter offers, tell the seller you'll "split the difference" between the two offers. It makes it seem like you're willing to compromise to his price. I've had this work a few times for me. Unless the seller is really set on a price, you can usually get them to move quite a bit.

The Carfax checked out perfect, the person asked for $11K, I'm gonna offer $9500, and see what happens. I'm in no hurry and not really excited like I was when picking up the other 97 SE.
