Better watch out for those Golfs and Jettas

Looks like APR has released their Stage 3 kit for the transversely mounted 1.8T. Check out the numbers for the 100 octane program.

Yeah, that's a lot of power, it's not cheap. They have to replace quite a bit of the drivetrain too and it's not factored in the price. Either way it's still a lot of power.

The VR6 has 225/40-17 standard. That's not a joke. I see nothing wrong with a GTI. Maybe Nissan should put as much seriousness into its chassis.

Don't be fooled. I have a cousin in Miami that swears by VW/Audi. I ridden in his VR6. It's no joke.

Way too much money to build up the way he did, but it's all relative to your budget, I guess. Personally, I can't see putting AWD and twin-turbo upgrades in a Golf, but when done right, SH***********T!!

There's a guy in Tampa, trying to do the same. His car is currently totaly dismanteled.

Guys doing that in garages all over the place. Most of the time they are hot cars doing hybrids/swaps etc.. VR6 are one of the most highly stolen cars in Canada.

And it will be alot slower than the APR Stage 3 Golf!

I saw the APR Stage 3 Golf shop car run at DeSoto Dragway last weekend. It ran 12.77@111 on race gas and slicks.

Granted, for the $4000+ that that kit costs (plus the extras everyone will want to do), you could build a 1.8T and go faster. But, for those that dont want to mess with all that stuff and just bolt on a kit, it seems to be a good choice.

Even with 180hp, it still manages a 6.5 second 0-60mph time.
Oops, I forgot that magazien-racing is bad.
