max gone....guess wat im stuck with =(

i finally took my car into the shop yesterday to get it
fix cus i got in an accident about a month ago....well
when i went to get my rental at enterprise and they gave
me a 2 dr hatchback GEO METRO
i asked for another car but they didn't have any other
car around that price range since that's all Allstate
would pay for...so now i'm stuck with a metro that doesn't
have power steering and a speedometer that only gives
me an estimate of how fast i'm going....the meter jumps
up and down alot.........can't wait to get my car back

why even have a speedo on a Geo....when an old man in a wheel chair passes you really don't need to know your speed!

Oh man, I understand what you're going through. My roommate had a Metro. The few times I rode in it, every other car on the road looked twice as big. It felt more vulnerable than riding on a bicycle.
You know other drivers aren't giving you any respect, right?

if you want it to go faster, drive it on a windy day.. just make sure your going the right direction when the wind blows... you dont want to go in reverse now.

Hey, I thought I saw you in a Honda Accord once, I think with your gf? I was riding with my sister in her Accord because my car was having a front bumper makeover. We parked right in front on each other, but you put up the sunshade so you wouldn't have to look at us. lol...

Yeah, my sister's Accord is sort of silverish, I don't know what color exactly. She has a '00 V6, it's sort of unique now because she just put on 17" Tantrums and it's lowered. She also has a factory type rear spoiler. She drives real slowwww though, that's why when I have to ride with her, no way I'm going to let her drive.

Btw, I think your gf was in my history class at 1pm MWF, but I dropped that boring class. What's your major?

Computer science? lol...that was my original major too. Too hard so I changed major. I'm a Marketing major now. I'm only taking one class right now, thus I'm not around school much. Send me a PM if you want to talk more, I know the moderators here will not like it when people starting talking off topic.

The fact that it even exists as a rental is very weird. I've gotten a Hyundai Accent and make fun of it all you want but that's a decent car. The Elantra is even better. But I've rented Grand Am and Alero for less than $20 per day, so I wonder why Allstate wont pay for any more than a Geo? Though I have to admit for some reason rentals in Philly have gone up $9 per day so it'd be closer to $26-$20 today.

I took driver's ed in a three cyllinder autotragic metro. You really have to be a defensive driver in those things. The key was stuck in the ignition. And when I hit one of the dash buttons, one of the others flew off into the back seat.

A true quality piece...

...of ****.

I feel for you man that really sucks. When I had to get my Max fixed I got a 2002 Seibring, wasn't a "bad" car, wasn't very good either. It was a V4 - damn I totured that thing heh.

Pay the upgrade

Just pay the $3 or so a day and "step up" to something like a Chevy Cavalier.

Yea, they tried to stick me with one of those things before. Luckily, with my insurance policy, I have a choice of a free rental upgrade. They gave me a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I liked driving it, but I was broke the whole week trying to keep gas in it. Sometimes I wished I would have gone with the Metro.

2000 Jeep grand cherokee and i was hoping it
would be for me but then i saw them pull out the
metro also, so i knew the jeep wasn't going to be for me
but now i dont feel so bad driving the metro cus it gives
pretty good gas mileage

At least a Geo isn't as bad as the new Hon-duh Hybrid. (The Insight)

65HP!

Laugh...we have 3 times the HP of that thing stock.

when the dealer was fixing replacing my exhaust studs, i got stuck with a 3 cylinder Geo Metro hatchback in a lovely shade of turquoise. The thing didn't have power steering but it did have an automatic transmission. Anyhow, the only way to get the thing to move was to floor it which totally kills the gas milage. I spent more money filling up that thing in two weeks that I would have filling up my maxima. Also, on a flat surface, the thing topped out at 80!
