Never, dont use it unless your normal brakes arent capable of slowing the car down..when you need to use it, pull it up slowly.. just use it when you park.

Ok, E-brake is a misnomer. It is not designed to be used as an "emergency brake" by any means. It's never supposed to be used when the car is moving. It's a "Parking Brake" , it's only meant to keep the car from rolling when parked.

Have you ever pull the parking brake while on ice? After a good freezing I'll find a nice wide open empty parking lot and get going 10mph or so then turn the wheel and pull the brake, what happens? The rear of the car goes flying past you, and then next thing you know you're-a-spinn'n. Nissan nor any automaker intends for the brake to be used at any other time other then parking. If you're normal brakes aren't working, geez... Get them fixed will ya. Its only your LIFE on the line.

if youre going straight and its dry out, you can pull it a little but dont yank it to make the wheels lock, i wouldnt do that at a decent speed especially if you move your wheel a little.. for the most part if your brakes cant slow you down, nothing will

That was a bad move on Clee's part. There's no reason to pull it unless your parked on a steep grade.

I did that the first time driving in the snow going like 5 mph, yanked the ebrake and the *** slide all over the place. I had to do it so I would know what would actually happen if I needed to do that.

Use the ebrake (or whatever you want to call it) when you are parking to put less stress on the transmission. You could use it to slow down in case of an emergency, but don't yank it all the way up or the wheels will lock. Just give it like one or two clicks.
