How can I quiet down the y-pipe?

I am putting duals on and theoreticly that will be pushing half the air through each muffler so that should quiet it down some right? other than that what options do I have, I guess I could put the stock resonator on, but wouldn't that lower my power output, running from 2.25" back to 2" then back into 2.25? or is the stillen b-pipe 2.5"? Any help would be appreciated

Use header wrap. Wrap the whole thing.

I think most of the noise is coming from the free flow muffler not the pipe itself, but I guess header wrap would help out with the noise from the flex section, what does header wrap normally run?

Why do you want it soo quite? If you go to great lengths to make it quite it will restrict the air flow and give you less HP.

Like you said putting on resonators is gonna decrease your HP output.

I think you should give it a shot..I know it will be quiter than my setup if your gonna use 2 mufflers..just give it a shot I think your gonna love the aggressive sound..

I don't want it to be silent but just adding that y-pipe made about 50% increase in noise level, hopefully the dual exhaust or quads rather will help M5 STYLE

Header wrap is about $25 for about 40ft or so. Check at www.summitracing.com Ive used it for quite a while to cure the bees in the can from my Y from the flex, and Ive taken it off to check it out, no damage at all. Sounds much better though

Why don't you go to a muffler shop and install a 2.5" aftermarket resonator that way you'll reduce some of the noise while still keeping power.

Do not get glasspak, I had it on my truck and it was alright but it is LOUD!!!! So instead of quieting your ride, it will make it louder.

well what you can do is use tsudos predator muffler that comes w/a sliencer. same goes for the universal apexi n-1. you can plug it up when you want to be quiet and unplugg it for max power.

How about a 5th gen muffler? Get the best of both worlds, free flowing high rpm power, low noise.
