i have a question for people with a Stillen RSB

ok.. after my install today i noticed that the upper bolts on the brackets touched the rear brake lines. have anyone else noticed this?

or was it cause of the location in which i tighened the bracket.??

anyway i used another piece of hose, sliced it, and placed it on the brake line were the bolt was touchin.. zip tied one end to make sure it was secure...i was being overly protective...

better safe than sorry..

and what position is best for the rsb? since it is adjustable, what locations do what?

i think i remember mine doing the same thing, but since it wasn't a moving part, i didn't worry about it. as far as being 'adjustable', i just made sure that the bar did not get hit by the rear suspension. the first time i did it, i kept hearing this 'banging' everytime i went off a driveway of a parking lot or the house. i had to move the rsb forward to prevent this, so yes, it is 'adjustable' by placing the bar forward or backward, but really, you can't move it further back beyond the rear suspension w/o having the bar bang against the moving suspension arm.

There should've been a spacer included with your RSB that moves the brake line out a bit so that the RSB brackets clear the brake lines. Also make sure that you install the bolts so that they point inward. It's been awhile but I believe that the upper rear bolt sticks outward...the rest point inward.

As far as position of the bar, I like it directly under the rear beam...but this is just preference as there are many opinions on this. I believe the further the bar is towards the front of the car, the more the car will oversteer, but I'd double check that.

i know what you are saying, you have to put the top outer bolt i think facing outward, IE the extra bolt length facing away from teh car and it won't rub it. as for postions, i had a tough time with mine, it was hitting my rear multilink which is BEHIND the rear axle now on 5th gens, mine is right under the axle, the farther up and the more ti makes the rear want to do sideways, i want to move mine up more but i can't. i want fishtails is a FWD.

the brake lines are on the inside of the frame.

the spacer provided (which i used) was for the hose on the outside.

thanks for the info

you too steve...

007, it worked fine on my car, I got new hardware for you, so I know the outside line was good to go, as for the inside line, the clamps cleared mine w/o a problem. I moved my RSB as forward as I could, and making the bar as short as possible from the clamps to the beam. Made it at the stiffest setting, and then I loosened my clamps, and moved the RSB up as far as I could.

Steve I swung my car around so many turns w/ that RSB I loved it. I was running Toylet w/ BlkLegend driving his car, and some dork in an accord came out of nowhere, we were coming up to a turn that sweeps left, and we were doing about 75mph, Accords on the brakes, Rba who is sitting shot gun is like oh ****, and my car went sideways for a good 3-4 seconds and recovered.
If you know how to use the RSB, driving can be fun.

i know it works well, i tried it out after i installed it.. i was just being overly concerned that's all.. thanks Mr. Custom..

Adjustability...

Also, a non-adjustable RSB presumes a setting for you, and you have to live with it. An adjustable version is just that: You can adjust it to the position you wish, creating varying levels of oversteer.

Good luck.
