Stillen/Vortech SC Warranty

Mine is deffective! It makes a grinding sound and it screeches like it would'nt believe! For those of you who remember all of the trouble I've been having with it, you know that I've been having trouble from jump and have not really been able to enjoy my SC! From fuel pressure, to vaccum leaks, to oil pressure problems and now I've got all of that fixed, the ?@#*& SC goes!
I still get boost and the car runs ok but its probably just a matter of time before the SC goes. It sounds like it has a bad bearing.
For those of you who have had, or know someone who has had similar problems with their SC and went to Vortech for them to honor the warranty, how are they about it? Will they give me a hard time? I've only had the SC for about 5 months. I hope they can just repair it and send it back to me so I can finally enjoy my investment, problem free! Holla...

Go through who you bought it from (Avalon?). They can help you with the warranty work... but you better swap back to the 3.60" pulley first.

Actually if you listen to Vortech they want the blowers with NO pulley on it. So just take the pulley off and send away... You may need to go through your retailer though.

Do they have a separate warranty hotline to call , that they purposely don't answer?

I'm not talking about the normal SC whistle...this is an annoying grinding noise and the regular whistle is now amplified like 10X!!! Theres something wrong with mine definately. If you have the same problem then...Hmmm Maybe you should get it checked out!

The grinding noise is normal on the V2. Its been said that the V2 is quieter than the V1. If you're still getting boost the the SC is working IMO.

Whistle? What whistle?
Where you able to locate where that sound is coming from? Is it the Bosch Blow off valve?

I can vouch for Deac's SC, it definitely does not sound healthy, I heard it today.

Deac... SWEET ride man

Lemme know if you need a hand.

Didn't Disney invent that? Jiminy Cricket! But I wouldn't want my SC to do that. I thought the V2 was the "stealth" version.

If you are having so many problems with so many different components, it sounds like an install problem to me. What are the odds of receiving so many different 'lemon' parts?! Did you do your install or did a shop? How do you feel about the install?

I've actually wondered this myself, if one were to install there own supercharger (as did I), and they were to have problems (knock on wood), would Stillen/Vortech still cover it or is it void?

Anyway, good luck man.

Are you able to provide us with a sound file? Us V2 owners will be able to tell if it sounds healthy or not. Just a suggestion...

I didn't get a sound file, but I have been around 4 V2's in the last 3 months or so, and Deac's SC sounded identical to ScreaminFast's SC right before it totally crapped on him and had to be returned to Vortech for 800 bux in repairs. I am not the master mechanic, but having been around 2 "good" V2's and 2 "Bad" V2's I think I am as qualified as any. I mean I told Screaminfast that his V2 sounded odd, next thing you know we find an internal oil leak in the blower, all within 5 minutes of him pulling up. He pulls the blower out, ships to Vortech and they socked him good.

The cost to get the supercharger fixed should cost you out of pocket exactly $540.00 subtract $177 if they dont have to replace the blades. I called them and found out. You should be able to get thru there is only two guys Jaime and Mike, remove the pulley and plate and ship it to them you will get it back within a week and half.

This grinding noise is Excessively loud. When you place your hand on the SC, you can actually feel it shaking/rattling....it never did that at the beginning. I know that the whistle is normal also but it has gradually amplified itself over the past few weeks. The 1st couple of months of having the SC in, there were no sounds, then came a little grinding noise that got louder and louder as time when on...now, the "normal" whistle/cricket soud is much louder than usual also.
The other problems I had didnt have aything to do with the sounds coming from the SC because those were there before I had the fuel problems. They just weren't so prominent...Like I said, the noises have been gradually getting worse. Maybe we did do something wrong..but we checked all that could be checked honestly! I believe theres something wrong with the SC.

The reason that Jay would have to pay and/or Screaminfast had to pay were that they were not the original owners of the SC. Plus Jay's SC had a unfortunate incident before he got it that prolly would not be covered under the nicest of warranties.
