Stay with the auto. If you had a natural desire for a manual it would have developed years ago. I have and like the auto because I work in my car. I have a sports car(manual) for fun.

See, I guess it wasn't so stupid after all. BTW, I say go for the manual tranny. Why not learn how to drive stick then you'll be able to drive anything (you never know when you might need to). Besides if you don't, the interior of an M5 will scare you. But really, the Max is pretty easy to learn on. The clutch is light and forgiving, especially compared to some cars I've driven. Traffic can definitely be a pain but it's not as bad as some make it out to be. Once you're pretty good at it I guarantee you'll be hooked. It's soooo much more fun. <----- PERIOD

I drive stick in traffic all the time and it doesn't bother me one bit.

When you drive an automatic, you use your right leg and one arm. Then people say that stick is too much of a hassle in traffic but all you're doing is just using both arms and both feet instead of only one of each. Me no understand what the problem is

Problem = Lazy Americans!! hehehe

Stick in traffic = full body workout.

Who needs manual tranny...computers are doing everything for us these days. One thing is for sure, I'll buy a manual when I see Homer Simpson drive one.

After my opther auto's I said I definantly wanted a stick next. So with this maxima I finaklly got one and I dont ever want to go back. I mean there is no comparison. Everyday I commute in traffic and the city but have never said to myself "Man I wish I did not get a stick". i want all my cars to be manual from now on.

I had a 2K1 auto SE, but got so bored with driving it that I sold it and got a 2K1 5-speed GXE. The only regret I have is that I should have bought a 5-speed to begin with! As far as driving in traffic, shifts are very smooth and easy (provided you've had the fuel-cut TSB done), so this is no issue at all.

You bought your MAX to enjoy the driving experience, and like everyone else says, you'll get way more enjoyment from driving a stick!

As WRX owners say, you can mod an automatic WRX to be just as fast as if not fast as the stick, but you're still only having less thanhalf the fun
