I'm also proud to say that Rota wheels are proudly Filipino made

aaron they look really nice.. and knowing that your car is more performance oriented i wont mention getting bigger.. they look really good, without the stillen kit and such a clean drop i think it would look funny, but it all ties together really well..
cant wait to see the ride up close this summer in some northeast meets!!

I'm surprised you still have the pinstripe there. You car is clean as can be, the pinstripe does stick out though. Originally posted by theblue

Btw, you going to drag with these rims/tires?

My 18 in rims weigh 16 lbs a piece

Nice color! Can you give the rest of the specs. Offset? Hubcentric?
It looks like these wheels will give good spoke clearance for big brake installs etc.. Can you comment on this?
And finally, how much!?

the wheels + tires were a little under $1000 shipped, mounted, balenced, new lugs w/ locks.. the full deal. they have a 45 offset which is a little extreme for a maxima but I don't rub so its all good. Even if I got 18" rims that weigh 16lbs, they would still slow me down a lot more because the majority of the weight of a rim is on the outside (more rotational mass) I was told by people here they these rims were not hubcentric, but my local speed shop told me they will be just fine and they are... they corner like crazy... I can no longer chirp 2nd but I can launch much higher up in 1st gear on the street so I hit the powerband faster and I know that in terms of street performance I'm quicker because of it. As for drag racing, I have these:

Thanks for the info. Damn, 45mm is a tad too much for my 3-gen. But I do know two guys that are running them w/ spacers. So do these rims allow room for big brake stuff?

Konig, much like APC does not make anything... the resell products with their brand name on them. Rota makes the wheels so as you can guess its a little cheaper to buy from the people who make them. (this according to the shop that sold them to me)Originally posted by Y2KMaxGXE-R

as for big brakes, yeah I can fit them almost for sure, but I may need spacers at that point

thats the real news to me. But you got a great deal on them, under 1000 for everything. This is very good for 17"s, not talking about the 18"s. Cheapest I could find on the internet (not ebay) is the package of like 1150 for 17" Subzeros with Kumhos at my door.Originally posted by theblue

Tire Rack hit me for 1000 and change to the door for my 18x8 235/40. I really like the 40-series cause many cars have 45's and 50's in a 17" standard now. When a Chrysler has em it's like a little old lady buying stock, time to try something different! Those SSR are very light even in 18". Two-piece them and fuggediboudit how light they are. I like Tire Rack because the offset is correct, no excuses and they put the centering rings on. IMHO almost doesn't cut it, like buying a hockey skate 1/2 size too big because it's 40% off, how you gonna play?Originally posted by Y2KMaxGXE-R

I think I've seen that design before. It looks very good.
17" is definitely they way, 13lbs definitely swayed my mind. 18" definitely looks better but for me that was an extra 6 lbs
per rim, price for once actually not being a factor at only $100 more per rim in my case. Anyways they look sweet theblue, especially gold on your car, now that makes 4 of us on the .Org with that design of wheel.

Pictures don't really do them justice. They look even SMALLER in person, reason being it's relative. Virtually all mid to premium cars have 17's standard these days, so they look normal, not modded/aftermarket. Even 45's don't necessarily look low profile anymore. 35's do....... I don't know about looking too small I've had several people at work etc ask me if they are 18s... they look really big to me.. but then again, i'm used to the 16s and i'm all about speed...

For looks, you can have a set of very nice 16" so ppl will be turning heads. Why would you put such thin rubber on Max, this is not a sports car.Originally posted by Frank Fontaine

You guys talk so much about modding, are there any custom-built 2-dr Maximas in the US?

I think I've looked at one too many max pics with 19 inch rims cuz those look pretty small
also do you have any problems with your exhaust pipe melting your rear valence?
