97 Max vs. 91 Q45 vs. 97 3.2 TL vs. 00 Accord Coupe
#1
I own the Maxima and my cuzes own the other cars. We all have autos. We all think we can beat each other but what are my chances?
I think my hardest opponent would be the Q, it has a V8 and 271 hp!!! I've been in his car, from 0-40 its not too fast but from 50-100 it really pulls. I think the TL has 200 horses but with no Vtec and the Accord has 200 hp with Vtec.

naw blackmax, q45's transmission is slow..
and I know this from personal experience, my girl drives a 91 q45..and i kill her all the time....but my car is a 5 spd.......it may get you actually....the tl will probly get you too....the accord you should at least hang with if not beat.

Yeah..
You're gonna need a bolt-on or two to be able to beat the TL. I've never raced the accord or the Q45, but everyone in the forum will probably agree you'll beat the accord... I've raced a 3.2 TL and it beat me by about half a car length. The fact I had 150lbs of stereo gear in the trunk, and I had air conditioning on might give you the edge though. Make sure you've got everything ready to race when you do it (ie, nothing in trunk, hell ditch the spare too so it'll give you bragging rights hehe) and you might be able to pull it off.
If not, get a Y-pipe =)

ok you have the tl, it runs high sixteens, i dont know why though,200hp 210tq. acord coupe is going to be your most equal race, who ever gets the better jump will win. the q-45, the biggest japaneese displacement engine put in to production car still to this day 278hp 292tq i have driven one raced a 97 auto maxima in one stock both, the q prevailed by about 3 1/2 car lengths it just pulls when the weight is out of the way.

okay
I drive a 95 max se auto
cuz's got a 93 Q45.. same motor as your cuz..278 horse blah blah blah
he ran 1/4 mile in 15.8 with 17's
i ran 15.6.. with 15's...
I race him all the time.. off the line you'll be even 0-60, 0-100, almost dead tie..
however on the highway .. your gonna walked all over..
DO NOT race the Q anywhere from 50-100 that's their strong point..
I've seen him take an M3 from 50-100 ..
the TL will beat you in 1/4 but not by that much .. no matter how you race the TL ..it will always edge out by a car or two ..
The accord .. if it's a 6 you'll beat him by a little bit.. a 4 cyl you'll smoke..

maxima all the way
from personal experience i can tell you that you can beat the Q...
yes the Q flies at the higher highway speeds but by the time its gets their the max will be gone.
my cousin also has a 93 Q.....and we have had our asses kicked numerous times by the local brooklyn Maxima owners.
we even tried changing the gears manually (it has i think what you call a gated shifter) ..it does help a little but still not enough.
i still remember the last time.....we pulled up next this sweet 4th gen SE.....from the start he was ahead...
towards the end the Q really pulled and we reached about 110....but the maxima was still a little ahead.
according to the road tests the Q had a slower 0-60 time than did the maxima.
But..
I still do love the Q.
