These belts are not easy to change on a 4th generation. How in the hell did you guys get that pulley bolt off? I have all but rounded off the edges trying. This really pisses me off b/c I can get everything else but that god damn bolt! You can't get anything in there but a box end wrench and even that is tight. Then you can't get enough 'muscle' on it to break it loose.

I need some help guys....I spent the money to buy the belts and owners manual and now I can't get one damn bolt loose. I think it might be to the point I have to use a nut cracker and break the bolt off and start over. This SUCKS!

safe to assume it's the tensioner pulley..
you need to loosen the pulley center lock nut. once that's done u have to loosen the adjustment bolt from the top. yes you'll need a box wrench. if your really stuck you can slightly lift up the engine w/ the E-jack and it'll push the engine enough for you to get a tool in there.
good luck

Yes...its the center pulley bolt. There is no way and hell its coming off. I ran an extension pipe off of it and it still didn't create enough torque to break it loose. What the hell am I missing here? I jacked the engine up a bit too and that didn't do a thing except allow me to get my hand away from the AC plumbing more. This is a poor design by Nissan. If it were the crankshaft pulley I could simply jump in there and hit it with the impact wrench.....F'ing car!

I have used nearly a full can of the crap. I let it sit two hours too. How did you get an extension on that thing? You couldn't have used a ratchet on it...there is no room. Describe in detail how you did it before I shoot myself I hate taking it some place but this thing is not going anywhere!

ok, i forget, it's either a 10mm or 12mm. but you get one of those wrenches that has one round end and an open end(i forget what those kind of wrenches are called). anyway, you put the round end of the wrench on the nut and so the open end of the wrench is sticking up towards you. now you take another one of those kind of wrenchs and you stick the round end of the wrench into the open end of the wrench that on the nut. you get what i'm saying?? so it's kinda like a makeshift extension.
here's a diagram...
this is a wrench -> O===<
(of course it's gonna be vertical)
you take another wrench and you go like this:
O===<o===<
(loop the round end over the open end of the first wrench)

get it?? uh... hope that helps.

ah, shoot, it didn't show up right. here it is again:

" O===<o===< "
(loop the round end over the open end of the first wrench). hope this one shows up right.

Well I got what you are saying...and I will try it tomorrow. I think that the bolt is tooooo rounded at this point! Thanks for your help.

What might this cost me at the shop if I already have the belts?

Are you trying to loosen the big a$$ pulley? or the tensioner pulley? Then big pulley is probably on there pretty tight and would require an impact wrench to get off.
