a "working" mod I had to do

Well, I hated to do this, but I got a bike rack for my Maxima because my kid outgrew her first bike and the second one doesn't fit in the trunk ... nor does mine. I just hope this doesn't screw up the paint. It's a Yakima trunk rack, and it has some really thick rubber pads. I figure I'll keep a good soft rag in the car to wipe the trunk and the rubber feet clean whenever I put this on, and make darn sure I secure the pedals so they don't spin and scratch anything up. I almost want to get a beater car just for transporting the bikes. Poor Maxima ...

Insurance to park that cheap a$$ truck 360 days a year ... another $500/year, plus keeping the !#$% thing running. Nothing out here in California is as cheap as that. A running truck is at least $2500 for a whoopdie ... Yeah, I've thought of it, though ... If people can put these on their new Volvos, I guess they work ok. It's not like my car isn't collecting war wounds just from parking in San Francisco. My rear bumper - geez! But then, the color on the bumpers doesn't match well anway ...
