What makes a rim unrepairable?

I bent a rim today. not too bad, I think. The bend itself is on the inside of the rim (the side facing the engine bay) and is about 4" long but only about 3-4mm deep.

At what point is a rim unrepairable? What makes it unrepairable?

Anyone know?

They are all repairable but its if it is worth the work and cost. I talked to my freind which is a wheel repair person and he showed me a classic mustang rim that was not even round or straight. He said because it was a classic and the customer will pay any amount for this origanal rim to be repaired he will repair it. I hit a curb that was in the road and he said it was fixable but not for $90 which is the cost of a new one.

I already have a guy that does it for $75.00. Noone makes Trophies anymore, so I wouldn't have any choice but to pay to get it fixed no matter what the cost. (Well, unless it costs more than a whole new set of rims, of course)

He's just not open today or tomorrow, so I haven't talked to him yet.
