Yet another new best time!

13.064et @ 109.74mph

Dagblasted 12's soooo elusive!

This was run on my street tires with tire pressure set at god knows what and my AGX's set on my stret setting of 1f/5r. I went to the track to see an 11 second Miata run (he didnt run) and really was just playing around. I had the spare and jack out. I used the spray also. The track was hooking sooooo good, 2.079 60' and a 5.674 330'. I really think that the height of my 225/50-16 Dunlop SP5k's at 24" is optimal for a five speed max. The 205/50-15 drag radials could never pull 330' times like that! I kill the DR's in the second gear shift. My clutch is on its way out for sure, it can only take a few back to back runs before it slips, time for an upgrade!

See the slip here...

Damn that is good. I just dont know why you cant get into the 12's with the juice. You are almost there. How big a shot do you have? Dont get me wrong, that is insane...Very fast for a Maxima, I cant imagine the pull on that thing.

As far as I'm concerned you have a 12 second car!

You're close enough for me. I think your car is a 12 second car depending on the conditions of the track, day, and driver. Hey if you really want 12's take out the back seat and passenger seat and see what you run then. I'm sure it'll be in the 12's.

I guess I'm happy with potential, and your car definitely has it.

You've worked hard to get here.

Congrats Mardigras!!!!!

Good job Matt, and that is with stockers

Matt is always making it harder for me to get in with the big dogs.

Matt,

I asked this in one of your other new best time threads but it seems you've deleted them.

Don't 5-speed SC 4th Gen Maxima's run high 4's low 5's 0-60? (w/bolt-ons, fat performance tires, ect) ? Any idea of what you run 0-60 with your SC ?

4 seconds sounds like a super car, I doubt it that a max will do 0-60 in 4 seconds...

Oh BTW, 0-60 according to stillen for the s/c is 5.9 ;-)

Yes, that would be for an AUTO Maxima.

and I doubt it is boosted as much as Matt's max.

That is awesome

That is an awesome time. Maybe next time instead of driving in reverse you should try going forward down the track... R isn't race beyond popular belief. But serious I can't wait to see the 12 time slip. Just right around the corner.

Great time Matt. I cant wait to see what you are capable of running once a new clutch is in.

BTW-Just remember, because you run teh same q-mile time DOES NOTmean that you run the same 0-60. Example, at the track i have lined up with a WRX, I would get smoked off the line but i would real him in and actually pass him. I had a faster 1/4 mile time but that does not mean i am faster 0-60. Some cars launch better and are faster off the line but have less power top end. Usually a car with more torque will be fast off the line. Cars with higher HP have more top end and will show that with high trap speeds.

Our cars are torquey with lots of low end grunt.

The main thing you forgot Synki is AWD vs. FWD....how unfair!

I personally don't think our cars are torquey (NA that is) at all but Matt's car is a diff story.

AWD vs FWD is def not fair but thank god the new ride coming is AWD.

I dont think the VQ and VEs are that tourqey either....I've seen plenty videos of the older VGs pull the VQs(5spd and auto) off the line...mostly because of that low torque curve the VG motor has enabling it to pull mid/high 2.3-mid 2.4 60ts. STOCK(unfortunately power after 5k is some **** so they ultimately lose the race)...as for the n/a VE/VQs I think they are more mid/top end killers than torque monsters.

that is fast time, but do you think by replacing the clutch you would be in the 12's? the grip would be better correct? and you do have the quaife for the 50/50 even power on the wheels. Awesome time!!!congrats, is just amazing a good time and you did not even change your tires, same thing with me with the 14.6 but Ill change them hopefully it will at least put me in the high 13's.
