Need help with some lighter weight 17" wheels

I've narrowed my choices down to the BBS RK or SSR Competition. You can view both on a black 2K2 Maxima at www.tirerack.com. They are both around the same weight (the SSR's may be a little lighter though). Either way, both are at least ten lbs a piece lighter than stock.

I'm replacing my tires as well and am leaning towards the BF Goodrich Radial G-force T/As summer tires. Are they better performing than say Khumo 712s? I'm mainly looking for handling and good wet traction. I dont need snow tires.

G-Force TA is a far superior tire to the Kumho. If you are going to spend the money to get BBS RKs or SSR Comps, don't cheap out on the tires. Kumhos wet traction is marginal, dry traction is good. If you want wet traction and dry traction get the G-Force TA KDW, or KDWS which is an all season tire. The KD is only for dry conditions and will kick *** in the dry but not be very good in the wet.

I myself am looking into purchasing some SSR competions for $1634 shipped, the 17x8, but I am probably going to post everyone that has 17x8 with sprints to email me a pic or a post a pic of their ride with 17x8 wheels and sprints. I want to see how much lower to the ground that will take me. Also the competitions in 17x8 are 13.1Lbs. Nice choice for light wheels.

get the SSRs

COmpetitions are 3-4 lbs lighter than the RKs in 17x8

I've been driving for two weeks on BF Goodrich G-force T/A KDW tires, bought from Tirerack ($50 mail-in rebate makes it even better). They're 235/45YR17 on 17x7.5 Konig Toxxins, replacing the stock 17" SE rims and RE92 tires.
The KDW's are a large improvement over the RE92's in terms of traction, handling, and wet performance. I do feel a difference in steering feel from the wider tire, and I *think* there's a difference in acceleration from my lighter rims (5-6# less than stock). A KDW on a shipping scale weighed 25#.
In the dry, I think there's less sidewall flex than the RE92 in hard cornering, and it makes on and off ramps even more fun. I haven't really pushed them in heavy rain yet, but on wet roads, they've felt much more confident than the RE92.
The only downside I can think of is that the KDW's are louder than the stock all-season tires, but they aren't too intrusive, mainly giving you more rolling noise when slowing down to a stop.
