need help: altima or max

I have a 2k2 altima and I have been thinking about trading to the 2k2 max 6spd. I test drove it and was very impressed. This is the deal they offered me. My car has Bose, leather, auto V6 8500mi. The max is cloth, stock radio, SE 6spd. They will give me $22K for my car (which is paid for ) and the max listed for he said $28K, kinda high. Anyway they said they would give me the car for around $25k with all the discounts. The only thing is the car has 500mi on it already. Bottom line is I would pay a little over $3k for the car. I don't know what you guys have been paying but this doesn't sound to good to me. I could always save that $3k and buy a supercharger when it comes out for the alty. Any advice would really help.

The transmission difference would be nice...but I think if you want a Max, you should sell your Altima privately, then get one...you'll always get more than trade-in, that way. Think about it, the dealer has to turn around and sell that car to someone like yourself at a profit. Why not take that profit yourself?

If you don't really care about 6-spd vs. auto, I say keep your car. In my mind, they're just as good as Maximas, except the interior materials are a little cheaper looking. But I think the exterior looks are actually better. It's a toss-up, but whatever you do, don't trade in!

Maxima is still above the altima, and has been for the last 10 years, and will remain there. If your gonna do it, do it right.

If your Altima is not a 5 speed I d sell it privately to someone else and then walk in and buy that 6 speed Maxima. I would only trade my new Altima if it was an Auto. I dont know if thats your case. Both cars are very nice and fast!!
