I'm 90% sure its the bearing plate. I've got an appointment at the dealer to replace them. The car clunks when I turn the wheel. They did diagnose it 2 summers ago, but it goes away when cold in the winter. I told them they needed to replace "the upper strut bearing plates". I figured they would need to order the parts for Monday. I don't want to leave the car only to come back at 6 and have them say "we ordered the parts, when can you come in".

I got a quote of 350 2 years back for parts and labor. Is that high?

I'm going to try and scan some pics of exploded views from the FSM during my lunch hour.

For the strut bearings and install? I think so. The bearings can be had for $20-$25 a piece, and you can do the install yourself if you wanted.

www.mortorvate.ca has a writeup.

Of course $350 is too much.

Change it yourself or buy the parts and go to a place that does suspension.
