You explain to us how to make a self adjusting hydraulic clutch and I will post a picture of how the rest of the world adjusts it.

I explain how to do this in my post in the 4th gen forum's FAQ. BTW, I had to adjust my ACT clutch when I first got it.

Exactly Eric,
It is the same in 02. We come here for information!

Weird. I never had a problem with my ACT clutch. Didn't have to adjust it or anything. After about 1,000 miles engaging it smoothed out really nicely. It still chirps 3rd on the street, and I've chirped 4th at the dragway quite a few times. What did you do Sprint?? lol

when I installed the ACT in my car, it was a B!TCH to drive for the first 1000 miles or so. after about 18000 miles now (damn.. and I installed it in August..) but the clutch almost feels like stock engagement. if I dump it, I'll still spin 2nd and chirp 3rd, but 1st gear engagement is silky smooth.
the first month or so, it was a fun sight to see me at a stop light though.
My old clutch was so far gone that I could just dump the pedal and give it some gas and I'd pull off.. If I did that when the ACT was new, It'd lurch out into the middle of the intersection with the engine about 200rpm.. it NEVER stalled though.. that's the weird part- even if I let it go at idle and didn't hit the gas until I was about 1/2 way out of my seat. grrrr
after I got it broken in, I could still chirp 4th pretty easy because of my broken engine mounts.. it was pretty fun racing riceboys and shifting to 4th at 80 (why push it, they were already way behind me!), I'd still chirp, and they would swear up and down I was on the bottle cause "nothing chirps 4th unless its on the bottle!"

Re: training for that ACT clutch
The problem with the ACT clutch is not the pedal effort. The effort is the same as stock.
The ACT clutch has a viscous engagement when new. The point from "just starting to engage" and "fully engaged" is much smaller than the stock clutch.
I have the ACT, too
Stalled 5 times when leaving the shop. 600 miles later, with no adjusting, the car engages nearly as smoothly as stock now. Of course, abrupts drops still show the strong grabbing power of the ACT if you need it That clutch ain't letting that VQ run away at all.

Re: Re: training for that ACT clutch
Exactly i have owned a total of 2 maxima's now.. and i didn't stall them like now.. the ACT Clutch and the OEM Clutch is night and day.. all these guys can keep laughing at me and say learn to drive 5spd.. go out and drive a Max with a brand new ACT Clutch and tell me
All you 5spd Owners with Stock Clutches.. the ACT is no joke.. i mean at 30 mph i shift to 3rd gear and i am still getting neck snapping action.. thats something else
