Accident...

Well, today my mom who now owns my Max crashed it getting on a freeway on-ramp. She hit an SUV from the back and there is quite a bit of front-end damage. She's perfectly fine although shook up by the accident. Air bags did not deploy. Here are the pics. How much damage money wise do you guys think there is?

Damn dude, that just sucks... You took such good care of that thing too... Oh well. Is it me, or do most women in general tend to tail more often then none? I think its just the girls I know though... Oh well...

Ouch! I am sorry to hear that. Glad everyone is Okay.

From the pics, I can tell that you need

1) new hood
2) new front bumper
3) new headlight housing
4) new/fixed right side fender

I am assuming everything in your engine bay is fine? Your probably looking at a $3000.00 - $4000.00 damage. It will probably cost you cheaper to get it all repaired (even from a very nice bodyshop)... So get as much as possible from your insurance and put the rest in your pocket! The insurance company should pay you guys around $4000.00 for this type of damage (if your auto guy is good at making up sh!tz. LoL).

P.S... I hope your Mom has full coverage 'cause she will be found to be at-fault (since she hit the SUV from the back) and will have to pay for their damages as well.

Ditto, I know how it feels http://images.cardomain.com/installs...785_2_full.jpg as a guy pulled out in frt. of me on 2/23/02. Only 1 good thing came of it (so far) is that I got a Max to replace it and be on here with all of you! I am really glad that your mom is ok!

When I had my accident it costed around $12,000 for a new front bumper, left side fender, headlight, and a little bit of damage on the front left door. Also had to get a new wheel and tire but that would only cost around $300 at most. Then again, the bodyshop did a perfect job and everything was replaced OEM so you probably could get it done for less than that.

Sorry to hear about the car, looks like it may be totalled to me, especially depending on the condition of the radiator supports and engine compartment. I can't really tell from the picture. Good luck.

Dayam dood, that sucks. Im glad your mom is ok.
The damage definintly looks repairable. I don't know how far you are from Huntington Beach, but there is a very good body shop there, Skill Craft.
In addition to all of the other parts people have posted that you need replacement, I think you might need to ahve some other stuff under the hood replaced. I am not sure how the inside of a 4th gen looks compared to my dad's 5th gen, but if it is similar, I think you will need a new intake after looking at pic 5.

your mom's accident is very similar to mine.. I don't have pics, but my car looks almost the same as yours right now. I broadsided a honda civic when the guy ran a red light perpendicular to me. My car is in the shop right now

Theyre replacing:

hood
both front fenders
front bumper
all lights up front
some mounting brackets
maybe radiator

there's also something wrong with my transmission, because all the tranny fluid leaked out after the accident. theyre saying that they can repair it though, they better be right.

total cost = $7000

I think the parts only cost about $3000, but the labor charges are insane.

Good luck with the insurance and repairs

Well, the insurance company totaled the car so now we need to figure out the way to get the maximum amount of money possible. Anyone has any suggestions?

My accident didn't look half as bad as that, and I still got a 3600 dollar repair job. It hurts to see the car look like that.
