Cleaning engine?
Cleaning engine?
How do you people get your engines so clean. Half the spots i cant reach to wipe off the degreasers that i spray on. Would it be a good idea to go to 1 of those car washes where you insert coins and wash it yourself. That sprayer has a bunch of power, kinda like powerwashing the engine. OR does water + engine = bad news? My engine is pretty dirty, cause my dad just gave me the car and he never cleaned the engine.

when i did my search..*hint hint*...a lot of people just went to an auto part store and bought some type of engine cleaner....i bought the GUNK engine cleaner!!! Don't buy that unless you want ya car smellin like FUBAR for a couple of days....then i went and bout Simple Green (i think thats what it was called), its an all purpose cleaner. A lot of people were saying it's pretty strong, but it worked wonders!! Just spray ya entire engine with it and let it stand for 5-10 minutes, then get ya water hose and rinse it off....if need be, repeat the process. You might have to wipe down ya engine to make sure you remove some of the dirt/grease, but it shouldn't be alot left on after you clean it. After rinsing, let ya engine bay dry for (i popped the hood and faced the car towards the sun and it pretty muched dried in no time) so you won't short anything out when you try to start the car. After that, if you want, just get some armorall and wipe down all your hoses to give it that clean look and poof....ya engine will hella good! I was impressed after i did mine and i need to redo it again cause pollen is a biatch and it has covered my engine bay!! Hope that helps though!!
