How much is an Nissan ECU?
Looks like I shorted out my ECU. The signal from the ECU to the coil packs suppsose to be 0.01 to 0.1V, but I'm getting 4V. Anyone ever bought one from the dealer? If someone that lives close to a junk yard that you have seen a wrecked 1999 SEL, please let me know. I'm looking for an ECU off 1999 SE cali-spec, auto, without traction control and production date 12/98.

Re: Re: How much is an Nissan ECU?
It was a stupid mistake on my part. I didn't disconnect the negative cable when I was working with eletrical system under the hood. I hooked up my HKS Twinpower and the car ran fine. I turned the car off and decided to move the HKS twinpower's ground to a better location. I accidently touched the HKS twinpower ground to the + terminal of the battery. Saw some sparks. After that, the car won't start. Took the HKS twinpower out and the car kept blowing the engine control 2 fuse. After 2 days of troubleshooting, the ECU's ignition signal wires were outputing 4V. The correct voltage is suppose to be .01v -.1v. Whenever I have more than 2 coils hooked up, the fuse will blow. The ECU was screwed up because if all 6 coils were hooked up, the amperage. is more than the 10 amp fuse.

If you're worried about someone buying the car from you later in its life, have some sort of documentation of the odometer readings before and after the swap, since I think the 98-99 has the info only in the ECU.
