Hi All,
Just got a 99 Maxima after getting too many speeding tickets with my 99 Camaro SS, want to upgrade the BOSE and need to know if 2 10's in the trunk would give me good bass, as in, I don't want to break any windows but like to feel some bass or would 2 12's be necessary? The guy at the shop I looked at says to put 2 12's in to be safe, what's your opinion?

It depends on how much of a basshead you are....

For me 1 10" does fine. If you like your bass, depending on the brand, 2 10's will be fine. 2 12's will definately give you all the bass you could want....

Yeah, well of course the guy at the shop wants you to put two 12's in. My JL Audio W3 12's are more than enough for me to handle, that is why I am selling them. Great set up, just to much bass for my taste anymore.

I have 2 JL 10w0-4's. They are getting about 150 watts each. I built a box with .75 cubic feet per sub and they are facing the rear of the car in the trunk. It's more than enough bass for me. It makes my ears hurt, so I figure that's about all I can handle.

i have 2 10 inch punch xlc and they are fine for me. I only play it loud with the windows up. One time I played in on full volume with them down and somebody said they could hear it about 900-1000 feet away. Its more than enough if you just like to listen to quality music. Any more than this and its just an overkill or bragging rights.

One 10 or 12 is all you need to make music sound good, even at high volumes. Anything more is just a waste of space and money and a lot of extra weight. You're better off having one good sub working at 50% than having two subs working at 25%.

Why are you getting rid of them?
