Anyone else have problems with broken front strut mount!? Mine is trashed!

I've been having a thunking sound from my passenger-side front suspension that's been getting progressively worse over the last few weeks. I checked out my pass-side strut yesterday and the strut mount appears to have completely come APART! The strut top is off-center, and when I pushed on the car side-to-side, I could see the strut moving inside the mount, so the inside part of the mount is moving relative to the outside part of the mount (the mount is bad). The real kicker was when I lifted up on the car. The top of the strut DROPPED 1/2", ie the entire mount has come apart and looks to be in two pieces. When I'm driving, whenever that pass-side front wheel hits a hole and the suspension extends, the top of the strut is separating from the car, then slamming back into the body. I already bought two new mounts and am installing this weekend.

Anyone else ever ran into this issue?

Keven out of the millions of suspension posts I have yet to hear of strut mount coming apart like yours. Some people replace the strut mounts with new OEMs or KYB strut mounts, but that's still considered optionally by many. I think some of the guys even have over 100k with the original mounts I still have my stock strut mounts with only 48k on them if you want them. Maybe you could give me some insight into why (I think) my springs aren't seated properly. BTW did you get my email?
