Because the VE motor really hits peak, and you can feel it at 3800 and holds it very well up until about 6300, and it seems like it doesnt loose anything on the top end. So my question is, how high and how safe?

I believe JWT bumps the rev limiter to 6800 or 7000rpm. Either way your stock tach is lying to ya. If you got another tach or a shift light you would see what I mean. But I think stock VE's hit the rev limiter at 6500rpm.

Well I've noticed especially on these types of cars that raising the redline doesn't help all that muvch because the torque and HP dramatically falls off shortly after mainly because of the head, particulary the camshaft design. Don, I say you leave it at stock and get ready to boost it...
