Terrible accident
I saw the aftermath of a terrible accident last night. There was a 2002 maxima that was moving through traffic last night on Rt 50 in MD between Davidsonvile and Annapolis. I would estimate his speed 90mph+ in traffic and faster than that when he would break free.
Less than a minute after he passed me I saw a bunch of sparks 3/4 mile up the road. I don't know what exactly happened but the maxima smashed into the back of another car. It looked like a bomb went off. Several cars were involved and there were bumpers, windshields, mechanical parts, body panels, and an engine, probably the maxima's, strewn about 4 lanes. The Maxima was trashed. The front end up to the driver door was gone, smashed to oblivion. From what I could tell none of the drivers/passengers involved in the accident were moving.
It was a minor miracle that this accident didn't cause a massive pileup. When traffic caught up to the accident scene drivers were swerving everywhere to avoid the debris and other motorists. It would be conjecture on my part to say what exactly happened but I know that the excessive speed of the Maxima was the cause.
The poor judgement of the maxima's driver more than likely cost him/her their life and horribly changed the lives of others.
