Sorry to say it Steve...

but thats a HORRIBLE job.
those I/C pipes will be dented or ripped off in no time.
if i were you i would redo the piping altogether...
and what kinda I/C is that? water to air??
you coulda fit a much bigger (and nicer looking) air/air intercooler in there, no doubt.

not bashing or anything...
but i've done a few I/C installs in my time...
i've seen some bad jobs in my time but

The bottom point of the IC tubes are 6 inches above the ground where as

the front spoiler is 9.5 inches above the ground. I haven't scraped them yet and don't think I will. The photograph makes it appear lower than it is.

It is an air to air intercooler. I doubt one could fit a bigger intercooler inbetween the radiator core support and the grill. It's real tight with the 3" 15X7 core.

You have to be careful too big of an intercooler produces unnecessary lag.

It might be possible to bring those IC tubes up some more.

If there is enough interest I'll ask him.

I agree, it could have been installed much better....

With ANY intercooler you're going to have pressure drop (not lag)...i'm sure you noticed a drop in boost pressure. A larger intercooler will not give you more pressure drop as long as its a GOOD intercooler. Size of the intercooler has nothing to do w/ lag. As long as you do a good install, with the proper size piping, and dont use an unneccessarily large amount of I/C piping you will not increase lag at all.
BTW: i've measured it out...you can fit a MUCH bigger intercooler than a 15x7x3.
WATCH OUT FOR THOSE SPEED BUMPS!!

Steve,

It appears that they tried to do a good job but there isn't enough room in reality. What do you think?

Intercooler idea

Relocate the battery to the trunk, and in the space where the battery and stock airbox used to it, install a Spearco or Vortech air-water intercooler...

just a thought

... and in the process destroy all long distance driveability, unless of course you dont mind stopping at a quicky mart to get some ice water every 30 mins...

air to air for a non race car.

Actually, there are many factory and aftermarket supercharged cars which have air to water intercoolers:
Factory: Jaguar XJR and XKR and Mercedes C32 AMG and SLK32 AMG. All run air-to-water intercoolers and Eaton roots-type blowers (in fact, they all use the exact same model).

Jackson Racing now has an air-to-water option for the supercharger kit for Miatas.

The Vortech supercharger kit for the 99-00 Civic Si uses a Vortech brand air to water intercooler (they call it an "Aftercooler"). Hmmm....the Stillen kit has a Vortech

Ford's one-off Focus R sported a turbocharger kit that contained an air to water intercooler.

See a trend growing here?

There's nothing wrong with using intercoolers in street cars. Sure, ice water is required for maximum power, but it's not mandatory to run ice water all the time. Sheesh, you might as well say the same thing for an intercooler spray for the air to air unit
