The Perfect MAXIMA
#1
In my opinion, of course:
1999 Nissan Maxima SE. Black/black leather. 5spd, loaded.
Mods: FSTB, RSB, H&R/Koni, PR CAI, 17" wheels(not sure what yet, too many good choices!), 25% tint, carbon fiber dash and shift ****, Xenon dash lights, shortened stock shifter, clear corners, Xenon bulbs up front, cleared out tails.
That's it, done!

I wonder what the point of this post is about.
Ok, the perfect maxima would have
1) rattle free interior
2) responsive transmission (stick and auto)
3) comfortable yet sporty seats
4) full size spare
5) cold A/C
6) smooth ride
7) brakes that do not groan
No wait, I'm describing a BMW, not a Maxima. hahaha...

My maxima is a good reliable car, that's it. Ok well, it looks good from a distance... Maxima paint sucks.

Yeah I was thinking about the Perfect Maxima...
But after seeing how poorly my 2000 SE is build, I don't think about it anymore. Paint chips easy, very easy; rattles are comming everyday, here and there;
Suspension,
And even with Stillen FTSB and RSB that I have, stock springs/shocks, 17" stock wheels, the car still handles pretty boatyyy. Much better than stock, but still I wish for more control. Stupid Rear Beam.
I had my 95 SE with H&Rs and Tokicos and car wasn't that much more stable compared to this 2000 SE. ohh well.
I guess I am not too satisfied with the car.
But, Engine and 5-speed make me forget about those negative things for a bit. AND then it comes, rattttllleee. heh

hmm
i think 3rd gens are one of the best maximas around for performance -
well the 5spd SE with 190 hp is
think about it
190hp
Independant Suspension
Lighter than our cars
low drag co. - .32 not the lowest but its low
thats why i drive a 4th gen muhahhahahaha

besides the fact that my max has kinda slugish pick up off the line, very very delicate paint and has rattles all over the freakin place inside. I still love it. Thinking about buying a 2001 max in like another year or two. Silver/black leather/bose/sunroof/white gauges/etc.... and just Super charging it from the start.... NO MORE SYSTEMS!!! This one is the last

[/QUOTEdo all 2000 maximas have bad paint? why do you rattles here and there? are you abusing the poor max?

Audi S4.
Oh wait he doesn't require AWD or 300 HP via $800 in mods... so ok, BMW too.

Ok, the perfect maxima would have
1) rattle free interior - I have no rattles, from the interior, though recently started hearing something rattle from my trunk (oh wait, that's just my toolbox - gonna replace that with a tool bag so it'll be silent).
2) responsive transmission (stick and auto) - my 5 speed romps with the best of them.
3) comfortable yet sporty seats - I like my seats (non electric/grey Cloth). (oh and being in FL - leather not good for me down here - especially not black leather).
4) full size spare - well this is my 1st X out - (I'll take care of that soon).
5) cold A/C - like a dang FREEZER tyvm.
6) smooth ride - stock Suspension - fairly smooth (though it sits like a 4x4).
7) brakes that do not groan - no groaning so far... (hopefully they stay that way).

If I'm considering the age of this post, I'll say, the perfect maxima for me, is a maxima with NO fU(king RUST!!!!!!!!! I dont know, fiber glass panels , or something like that.
Since I have my car, I almost didnt put a penny on mechanical stuff, but on the body its a disaster.

haha, although I agree with some of your things. Don't ride BMWs **** on that one either. Their brakes can be just as bad as well as Squeaky interior though out some years. Not to mention the INSANE redictlous prices on parts just because they say BMW on it. Nissan MAF sensor $175-$200 BMW $400-$575... hmmmmmmmm.. Both designed the SAME exact way in technology.
btw... I've driven e46s and even w202 Mercs and seen it all. Also. Don't forget to add number 8 to the list RUST for Nissans tho! lol.

eh imo the less aftermarket the better, if you get huge aftermarket you get Civics, riced up pieces of grap that are a dime a dozen. Maximas (especially 3rd gen/2nd gen/1st gen) you have to go custom, which is closer to perfect

i have yet to meet a person who doesn't frown upon a mod like that.. i'm always told that if that's done, all you're basicly riding around is the maxima shell.. and that's a waste of money. i'll do it reguardless tho and go poop on sti's =D
#38
it's not a mod, i have a perfect maxima and it's rwd. It just needs some help under the hood to be perfect. I do want to do the conversion on my stealth but will be using the stock rear from the awd model to do it.
#39
Stick an SR20/RB25 in it with a Z32 transmission behind it.
