check this out, gas in tail light....
check this out, gas in tail light....
i know someone (i think it was BigSadler) was talking about getting this done. what ever happened? http://www.motiv-online.com/gallerie...s/DSCN0085.htm
That looks like it would take way too much work to be worth the trouble. And why put it in the taillight? Why not the door jamb or the trunk? The taillight device looks flimsy and I couldn't imagine how many people would laugh at me if I pulled into a gas station and popped my taillight out!

The idea of shaving it I understand, but putting it in a fragile and very inaccessable place like that? I don't see why they wouldn't just put it in the trunk... Also what car is that? Civic with shaved inners and IS300 lights? Because the body doesn't look much like an IS300 but heck I don't know.

pictures are helpful though, i am in NJ for the summer and i know NO ONE here for anything so it wont get done this summer, it will have to wait until sept just like the 5spd..

Well, its just the plumbing that is going to the tail light its not like your moving the tank or anything. It stays under the seat as usual.

what i meant was, even a minor rear end collision could damage the rear end enough to the extent that filling up your tank would be impossible. this would leave no other way to fill your tank. of course, this is assuming that he got rid of the old gas flap, "plumbing," etc.

What makes it rice? The thousands of dollars of custom bodywork? Or the fact that it's actually done well? I'm not seeing any Type R stickers or anything stupid like that. There's a huge difference between rice and a show car. Those cars were done by JT Autobody, that's what they do. Custom work. Would it please you more if all modified cars sported the exact same body kit and people did nothing custom? Oh wait, that's how people modify Maximas, my bad.
When I'm done fiberglassing my interior and trunk, as well as the custom hood and custom fender flares, I'll be sure to let you know first so you can call me rice. Some of us like to try new things, others are content with the same old mediocrity and blandness.

Also this is so damn clean its not even funny!
Most maximas on here look exactly the same, I dont know about you but I really dont like looking at the same "Look at my new mod" and its the same stillen body kit that all the other 1000 people have on here. Sorry to say.
BTW, No one buy that Octane kit, I want it for myself, that would really turn heads other then a kit that you could hardly notice.
I like the blue one, as for the silver one the new "Rally light" fad is kinda gay IMO! I saw too many cars at Carlise with the big *** rally lights plastered on their front ends, I say keep 'em on a Subie! but "rice" is such a loose term now a days...according to some people on here a bike rack is considered rice as well.....

I was referring to the 2 cars pictured, not the taillight mod. That's not my thing either.
And let it be known, I hate Altezzas with a passion. I'm just tired of things being called rice when they're just different.

By the same token, both cars are Honda/Acura products, and both have IS300 headlights on it. Last time I checked, they did not come out from the factory that way. The civic has BMW Z3 gills. Last time I checked, Civics did not come out of the factory with Z3 gills.
[my opinion]
That is rice, whether that guy spent $1000 or $10,000. If you pine for IS300 lights, get the car the comes with them standard instead of installing them on your Civic.
There is no doubt the craftsmanship is good- and credit is due for the bodyman that completed the work- but the taste of the owner is not.
