Had two rolling races with a blue SI the other nite. I'm in my rental 2K2 auto Max. He had at least I/E. Both runs were from like 40 mph. First run I think he started in 3rd as I had 3 cars by 70. That was a joke. Second run he started in 2nd and like the first I waited to hear his intake.......walked him by 1.5 cars to 80, heard it get louder as vtec hit about a second after we started that run, also heard him powershift to 3rd but alas....roadkill. I was in 2nd gear start to finnish in both races. Fun but 255hp vs 160 isn't fair. Man do I want a new 6 speed.........

1.5 cars thats it....how many dead bodies in the trunk did you have..I mean even with intake and headers that car is still dog slow...especialy on top end. He musta had more than that. But hey thats just my .02 cents

Don't get me wrong it wasn't close but most auto 2k2's have been running low 15's and SI's have run mid 15's and who knows what else he had...2nd gear at 40 isnt a bad start for him, a little low for me, from 55 or so....bye bye. It was fun.

Unless your dumping 5K to mod your Tin Can HUNDUH SI , back away from the Maxx... I wouldnt even waste the GAS on that piece of garbage. Do you know how many cars any 2K2 can smoke an SI by ?

I've been wanting to run an Si but that's sorta tough when your commute is 1 minute / 0.5 miles. But it'll soon be 30 minutes / 25 miles so hopefully I'll run in to some.

DO NOT SLEEP ON SI's. I don't like most Hondas, but my friend just recently bought one with intake,exhaust, dc sports headers, gsr pistons and some other mod involving the engine, and he was right with me on 2k2 Auto. Up to 80 it was dead even, after 80 I would slowly get ahead, but it's still pretty quick for an SI, the previous owner of the car dynoed it and it was very close to 200 hp to the wheel, 197 or something.If I had a 6 spd, Hopefully I will soon, the race woulda been a little different.

Dog SLOW!! There was one at Etown last Friday that ran low 16s. Though you could say 'its about the driver', most car mags are running about the same times. A 99-00 Si would totally trash the 2K2 Si. I don't know what Honda was thinking when the decided to do the new Si; They got too many old guys running the Honda asylum.

Like I said, the previous owner of the car said the dyno was at 197 hp. I am not saying it is or isn't, but the fact is up to 80-90, he was keeping up with me in a 2k2 auto.

That much HP on such a light car will totally do it. I'm glad I have the 6spd, but if you're not changing gears all that much, it probably wouldn't really matter that you have the auto. (you're doing rolling races in one gear...)

Been gone a week and sorry to bring up this thread up again but wanted to mention another Honda encounter...For the past week I have been taking a 53' yacht from Ft. Myers Fla to Mobile Alabama and had to rent a car to get back...choices were Taurus or....2K2 Max...Ha! Two Maxes rented at same time. (had a rented one at home) Uneventful trip home but had one run with a V6 accord coupe, looked stock, I was cruising at 85 or so and went slowly by him. A minute later he flew by me and dissappeared away. So what, I just continued cruising. About 5 minutes later I came up behind him in traffic at around 70 mph. He had two cars in front of him and one at a time they pulled over to the right leaving us the left lane clear for a mile. Soon as the last car was out of his way I saw him take off away (he was pulling away) so I punched it. By the time he was by the 2 cars in the right lane I was comin on strong and he pulled to the right and I blew and I mean Blew by him. I brought 3rd up till it shifted into 4th (120?) and he was wayyyy back. Slowed to 85 cruise and he just caught up and stayed there. Didn't want anymore. Like I said before this thing is a blast.
