I have done a couple searches and i havent come across what seems to be my issue..

whenever i go over the slightest bump or a big bump it sounds like a metal on metal banging noise from the rear suspension. it is not coming from the springs rubbing i think it is from the top mount in the rears, metal on metal issues.

when i had airbags, i had urethane bushings to absorb what looks like the area where the sound is coming from. i dont have any bushings now and i wouldnt know what size or where to get them from anyway.

anyone have a quick fix or any idea of what could be used to absorb sound??

Make sure the top mounts on your rear suspension is all tightened up. After we did my spring/damper install, the middle bolt on one of the rear assemblies was loose, I had that same noise.

on my old max I had that same noise, only in the front... was killing myself trying to understand where exactly it was coming from, seemed like from the strut area.. Then I found the bolt at the top was so loose i was able to turn it with my fingers
