A stock Maxima 5spd against the New IS300, Who would win?? I have run into a screaming yellow one a couple times on my way to work. We've haven't formally raced, but it sure hauls ***. What about when it comes out with 5spd??? Who then.

IS is 7.1 0-60

the Auto Max would have a hard time keeping up with that #.

ha, race him while its new and he's

less willing to abuse it.. thats all that determines the winner of most road races, who's willing to beat up their car the most

as for which car is faster, id probably put my money on the is. ive never had the ***** to doubt a supra engine (except in gs300 form). we will all be anally raped by is's when the manual one is available. imagine the possibilities. supra turbos!!

The IS will win if it's auto maxima......

one of my friend has a IS, although we've never raced each other, but from riding with him, it definately felt faster than my auto. I think it could slightly out-handles max too, its spring is really firm....

any of you raced one yet ??

It's all too close to say anything for sure. 5sp *should* win, but that's if you can shift, auto *should be* a bit slower on paper, but you just might kick his ***, who knows?
I used to think my Maxima modded is sure faster than a Camry V6 auto, but someone here said his mom's V6 Camry did 15.4 on track, so I realize most of the ~200hp V6 should be in the same ball park. the margin is just too small for you to say anything for sure.

He might get a jump on you off the line due to his RWD though.

I've raced 2 different ones.....more

I raced a yellow one on a long stretch of double lane road down here and I took him off the line and kept pulling on him pretty well.....kind of like racing a v6 accord.....i raced a black on on the interstate and from 65 to about 80 it was pretty much even.....i had to exit so i had to slow down.
